Key Benefits
  • Natural Iron Supplementation – Cooking food, especially acidic foods like tomatoes, on cast iron can increase the iron content of the meal.
  • Non-stick without the Chemicals – Once well-seasoned, cast iron offers a natural non-stick surface, allowing for reduced use of oils or fats when cooking.
  • Even Heat Distribution and Retention – Cast iron is known for even heat distribution and excellent heat retention. This means foods are less likely to burn, and the tawa remains hot for a longer period of time.
  • Durable and Long-lasting: Cast iron cookware can last for generations if properly maintained.
  • Less Oil Usage: With a well-seasoned cast iron tawa, there's less need for extra oil or butter to prevent sticking, potentially reducing the total calorie and fat content of the food.
  • High-Heat Cooking: Cast iron can handle very high temperatures, making it suitable for searing, browning, and other high-heat cooking methods.
